Who looks at professional soccer players and thinks that's easier than my league? The guys are playing at a very different level mentally. They've been there, done that and forgotten more than the average player on the street will ever learn.

It's crazy how much you can actually learn by listening to the experience of others

The player pay is shocking. That is an absolute disgrace to pay soccer players that little. For a popular international sport, they should be making way more. I can’t believe people still aspire to be professional soccer players when that’s the norm. Sad

First time I went to watch an NFL game live I was blown away at how fast the quarterbacks actually throw the ball. Watching it on tv doesn’t do it justice

Love this stuff! I'll be implementing many of these games into my U9 training sessions. So many of the videos on RUclips are far too complex or require high skill/touch and major setups and equipment. But most of these can be done by the average U9 kid in my club using nothing more than cones. Incredibly helpful, thanks.

so many people neglect the importance of scanning and reading the game. Do not decide what to do when u have the ball, plan on what u want to do before making a forward movement and pass by scanning the opponents movement and before the ball gets to you, scan for opponents rushing to give pressure towards u to beat their pressure. This is significantly more important towards unathletic player when they cant abuse their strength and pace to beat the press

Great video. Sadly at 16 which was 1988 for me, the idea of playing pro soccer was mostly unheard of unless you wanted to be an indoor player. And no American kids were being considered in Europe. So club/high school/college it was! I also remember playing U19 ODP for NY state in 1990 and we had a guest player from Ireland that was starting his freshman year at Fordham U in the Fall and he was here in the US on scholarship because he was cut by the Millwall academy. This kid was twice as good as any player on the NY state team at the time, so we all looked at each other and laughed at the idea of any of us going to England if he wasn't good enough. Times have changed! As Matt says, there are many, many paths today for a young talented player.

Yep absolutely great work man, I just want to know more about the mental/physiological part of the game on the pitch, I’ve already eliminated nearly all my bad habits off the field (still working on some) but on the pitch I can’t find the mindset that fits me best. Do I act as a leader being loud assertive and energetic or do I stay quiet and composed, do I act like Rinaldo or maradona dancing around with the ball at his feet. I’ve tried everything and I know I train hard enough yet still fail doing things in game I can do every time in training. Any thoughts on this haha Ps also bought your dribble workout payed off 😁

Good analysis 👍 I will say, the seasonality of these leagues and total number of games the teams play are also factors that have a bearing on quality of play. All in all, English football is a lot more rugged than the MLS game.
